One game I hate is Test Drive Unlimited for the PC. I would love a nice long road just for cruising around.

If I can get a game that properly simulates an F430, F355 Berlinetta and the F40, I will buy 3 copies just for the hell of it. Should be the same but updated engine that powers the aforementioned games. One game Im getting very excited about is Ferrari Project from Simbin, who made GTR2/GTLegends etc. This time focus on late 70's and 80's GT racers. I would rather see a proper sequel to GTLegends than GTR2. Harder to handle, no tc/abs (unless you turn those aids on), and the variety of cars of that era really draw me in. I love those classic GT racers like the Alfa Romeo GTA, Ferrari 275, Ford GT40, BMW CSL etc. Great physics and all, but not nearly enough content for me.Īs much as I adore GTR2, I am in love with GTLegends. And the mod community isnt anywhere near what GTR2 or rFactor etc have. LFS is nice as well, but honestly how long does a game have to be in development before they say its done? I'm so bored of the few tracks in LFS. I like rFactor too but it doesnt have the polish that GTR2 have so I rarely play it. I play under the handle Joe on GTL and GTR2. Imo they are the *best* sims out on the PC, due to their realism, gameplay and oustanding modding community. Its almost the only thing I play these days. I've been lurking over at the RaceSimCentral forums to get up to speed on the current sim racing landscape, but would really love to get input from fellow Arsians in regards to personal likes/dislikes and experiences. my question to the GESC Arsians is this: Are you currently playing one or more PC racing sims? If so, what titles do you spend the most time with and why? Quite simply, sim racing scratches a special itch that no other genre can reach.

I've been considering this for a couple of months now, and am finally ready to jump in. so I'll be ready by the upcoming weekend with a custom PC loosely based on the $900 'Crysis challenge' box. A recent evening with my G25 wheel and demos for rFactor, Live For Speed, and GTR2 on my fairly underpowered work-focused PC (could barely hit 30fps on certain tracks with minimum settings and no opponents) left me with a craving for more.

After six months of dedicated time with Forza 2 and a recent month+ of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, I've decided to finally build a box for the purpose of getting into the various PC sims available.
